Technology - IRDM!!! - AMKR?!?!
I am getting closer to a real technology idea in Amkor Technology - AMKR - $25. I will wait for another quarter, but there is plenty to like.
I will call my satellite company Iridium - IRDM -$29, a technology company just so I can say I have one. Seeking Alpha puts Iridium in the communications sector, but Viasat in the technology sector. To me anything with flashing lights qualifies as technology. Remember technology is only 10% of small/mid cap value indices, so I am almost to my quota.
You can almost feel the technology ETF money in these stocks just waiting to rush out when the momentum changes. It is still time to be cautious.
Amkor Tech. - AMKR - $25 - semiconductor packaging and test, First Eagle idea, 1x sales, cash equals debt, 1.5x tangible book, partner with Apple and TSMC, waiting for February earnings because I am a gutless ninny (from Oxford, a foolish person), one year chart is a perfect “head and shoulders” (I really don’t care)
Rogers - ROG - $100 - duPont offered over $200/share, maybe this is just too easy, there is new management, but still 2x sales, Victory owns 5% and Mr. Royce owns 3%, mixed signals
Logitech - LOGI - $82 - gaming equipment, a Jim Cramer favorite (that is a negative), only 2 buys and 7 hold/sells (a positive) over 2x sales, hypester CEO now at VF Corp, mixed signals
Teradyne - TER - $126 - great business, China issues
Ultra Clean - UCTT - $35, another First Eagle holding, 1x sales, 1.8x book, semi-equip, wish I knew more
MKS Instruments - MKSI - $104, smart guys, Royce and Victory own 5%, 3x sales, still paying down debt from silly acquisition, maybe at $50
Applied Materials - AMAT - $164 - at $100 I want to own, the ultimate tech cyclical, kind of like cement for techies
MongoDB - MDB - $246 - only for Blazing Saddles fans, could be a disruptor, software is tough, still 8x sales but I am watching
GlobalFoundries - GFS - $42 - tied to regulatory issues, trying to do business in NY???
Arrow Electronics - ARW - $115 - the ultimate boring tech stock that too many value guys own because they have to own something in the sector, only one buy and six sells, pass
