Getting Organized - Utilities
My favorite utility in Kinder Morgan - KMI - $21. I liked the stock better at $17-18, but rates coming down at put all these stocks near their highs. If the FERC ever gets out of KMI’s way, I can see the stock at $30. Actually, I found I liked some of the REIT’s better than the utilities. I really do not trust many state regulators. These can be be good defensive names, but the threat of lower interest rates has made me look in other places.
I put the pipelines in this group. The generators, like Vistra, have run too much to even make the list.
Antero Midstream - AM - $15 - unique cash equivalent
AES Corp. - AES - $17 - the time to come to reach a conclusion, alright I did my work and I am even more confused, in general I like what AES is doing, but I do not like a management “switching the story”. The first rule in junior gold mining stocks was, “beware of story switches”. Does that rule apply here? I am 5 hours in, and I am still in a dark forest. The tax issues are overwhelming. I fear this is only a Kamala stock. I will right another post, but for now I must pass on AES.
